Look what arrived this week!

I have lots of different things to show you... so here we go:

Here is the scrap blanket I was working on while my husband was in the same room with me. I used the pattern from the booklet shown, Snuggly Squares. I left off the shell like stitches since I wasn't sure how much of each color I had to use. I stayed with the main cluster type stitch and I love the way it looks. This one will go in the pile for my April charity meeting. As you can see I got a lot of different yarn too! See that huge skein. I found that at Joanne's Fabric. It is 11 ounces and it comes in many different shades. It looked cool so I thought I would try it out on a shell or cardigan or something. And my order from Herrschner's came too!


Yes, that is 16 skeins of sock yarn! Frightful yes, but it was all on sale! Kimberly asked where the sale was and I found it at Herrschner's weekly sale. They change the yarn mostly every week. Of course sock yarn isn't on there except for the orange Hot Sox yarn. But in order of appearance we have: wesport check, shaded spure, hickory, harris tweed, flagstone, windsor tweed, cotton varigated jeans, and orange hot sox for another pair for my dear sweet husband. Not bad huh?


Speaking of my DH, here are the socks I have started for his Christmas present. They are Sock Landscape in mesa from Knitpicks. I do love the feel of their sock yarns. I have several more skeins that I ordered last February that I need to use (for myself). I may try a ripple or a fan stitch sock to use with some of my new self striping yarns I posted last time. I saw someone had a pair started and they looked great! First things first... this pair. The pair I am following is from this issue of Knit It! They had a really nice "formula" and it fits me perfectly and I have altered it for DH. I really like the simpicity of this one. And you can also see the sleeves of the baby sweater I finished. It is a combined effort. I get the sleeves and neck along with sewing the sweater together.

Well, I must go. I have to finish the last few chapters in my book and work on the socks while DH is out of the house today! Happily I am almost at the heel and things fly from there!
